BREAKING: Mexico Blames American Guns For Their Problems, Sues U.S.

Today, we have learned that Mexico is currently suing the United States, alleging that American firearms manufacturers and retailers are responsible for Mexico’s shocking crime and murder statistics.

Interestingly, the Mexican government’s best case against America isn’t against U.S. gun dealers at all; it’s with “Operation Fast and Furious,” the Obama administration’s bungled attempt to “trace crime guns.” That campaign, which did deliberately release firearms to illegal foreign buyers, was the brainchild of Obama’s Department of Justice. But this particular lawsuit instead seeks to blame law-abiding citizens and companies for the basket case that is Mexico’s law enforcement. Below we have a notice from the National Shooting Sports Foundation that spells out exactly what’s happening … and why.

NSSF, the firearm industry trade association, rejects Mexico’s allegations that U.S. firearm manufacturers participated in negligent business practices. All firearms sold at retail within the United States are sold in accordance with federal and state laws, with an FBI background check and forms completed. Allegations of wholesale cross-border gun trafficking are patently and demonstrably false.

“These allegations are baseless. The Mexican government is responsible for the rampant crime and corruption within their own borders,” said Lawrence G. Keane, NSSF Senior Vice President and General Counsel. “Mexico’s criminal activity is a direct result of the illicit drug trade, human trafficking and organized crime cartels that plague Mexico’s citizens. It is these cartels that criminally misuse firearms illegally imported into Mexico or stolen from the Mexican military and law enforcement. Rather than seeking to scapegoat law-abiding American businesses, Mexican authorities must focus their efforts on bringing the cartels to justice. The Mexican government, which receives considerable aid from U.S. taxpayers, is solely responsible for enforcing its laws – including the country’s strict gun control laws – within their own borders.

“The American people through their elected officials decide the laws governing the lawful commerce in firearms in our country,” Keane added. “This lawsuit filed by an American gun control group representing Mexico is an affront to U.S. sovereignty and a threat to the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding Americans to keep and bear arms. A right denied to the Mexican people who are unable to defend themselves from the cartels.”

Less than 12 percent of the guns Mexico seized in 2008, for example, have been verified as coming from the U.S. In 2008, approximately 30,000 firearms were seized from criminals in Mexico. Of these 30,000, only 7,200 (24 percent) were submitted to the ATF for tracing. This is because only these firearms were likely to have come from the U.S., a determination made by the presence of a U.S.-mandated serial number and the firearm’s make and model – requirements under federal law as part of the Gun Control Act of 1968. Of the 7,200 firearms submitted for tracing, only about 4,000 (13 percent) could be traced by the ATF of which roughly 3,480 (12 percent) came from the U.S. Although 3,480 is approximately 90 percent of the firearms successfully traced, it is hardly the mythical 90 percent of the total firearms recovered.

Even the more accurate 12 percent figure overestimates the true number of firearms from the United States. The Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars (Mexico Institute) points out that many of the serial numbers submitted for tracing were submitted to the ATF multiple times, some as many as five times each. The ATF has noted that more than 20 percent of the firearms submitted for tracing are duplicates. With such errors distorting the statistics it is clear that even fewer than 12 percent of these firearms originated in the U.S. And of the small number that did come from the U.S., many did not come from retail firearm sales.

Furthermore, of those firearms successfully traced, on average they were sold at retail 14 years earlier and following an FBI background check. This dispels the notion often repeated by the press that there is a flood of recently purchased firearms heading into Mexico from the United States.

The U.S. government also sells firearms directly to the Mexican government. Mexican soldiers continue to defect to work for the drug cartels, taking their American-made service rifles with them. In recent years the number of defections has soared to more than 150,000. According to U.S. State Department cables, the most lethal weapons used by Mexican cartels come from Central American arsenals. Additionally, according to a 2006 report by Amnesty International, China was actively supplying arms to Latin American countries, which have subsequently been seized in Mexico.

  1. Countersuit for all the damage illegal drugs and illegal migrants that were allowed to cross through Mexico! That will easily be 10 times the amount they’re asking.

  2. The Brady gun banning group is helping Mexico on this lawsuit. This really says something when you have a American group helping a foreign country to Ban our freedom to own firearms. The Brady group is a traitor to America.
This lawsuit is rediculus, blame American firearm companies for criminal acts and drug cartels. And the nonsense of saying they are secretly supplying the cartels with guns. How stupid.
Half of the cartels members are ex police and ex military, that says a lot for Mexico, when their police and military join drug cartels. They also bring their issued weapons with them and give them to the cartels. Many soldiers ” loose” their automatic weapons to the cartels.any police either give or sell their issued guns to the cartels.
The cartels have billions of drug dollars to purchase anything they want on the world open black market. Why would they go to a gun shop in the USA to purchase a new gun? It’s been said the cartels purchase full auto weapons from China.
Don’t forget that the two north Hollywood bank robbers got their full auto weapons from Mexico.
The USA should stop giving foreign aid to Mexico , $444 million last year, probably most of it goes to the cartels. The cartels run the Mexican government.
Finish the border wall now! On TV, there are new outbreaks of CV,.in major cities, this is because the Border patrol has no more room for all the illegals coming up from Central America and are putting them on busses and planes and sending them to major cities, so now there is a crime wave.too Biden says the crime is committed by “white supremacists terrorists”. What nonsense.
The Democrat politicians in major cities welcome illegals, and they push to defund- and abolish the police, thinking crime will stop, huh? And they wonder why Americans are purchasing firearms at a record high.
These illegals from Central America have CV, measles, polo, small pox, tuberculosis, lepersey
    .
Drug dealers, gang members and prostitutes pose as poor migrants to cross the border. Finish the border wall now!

The USA should sue Mexico for all the drugs, gangs and crime committed here.
Most of these gun banning groups are owned and run by Micheal Bloomberg, George Soros, the Chinese government, the U.N., Russia and now Mexico.
Protect and support your right to keep and own all types of firearms and accessories. Don’t let far leftist power crazed politicians to ban our guns.
AOC and the “squad” want to repeal the 2nd amendment, hell they want to abolish the Construction and Bill of Rights and replace it with something out of Castro and Stalin handbook.
The “squad” want to ban the American flag too.!!

Why is it that back in the 1950’s, one could walk into a hardware store, gun shop or mail order all kinds of firearms with no background checks or waiting period and crime was far less than today.
Background check equals gun registration equals gun confiscation equals gun control concentration camp s.

    1. Beg to differ, Sir! President Barrack Hussien Obama was directly responsible for this, and he and Eric Holder, and those assclowns in the BATF&E NEED to be held accountable! Send them to Mexico to stand trial…

  3. This is so ludicrous!!… build the wall … use whatever force necessary to stop invaders… close the border & cut off ties & ANY aid to them until the time comes, if ever, when these Mexicans can clean up their act … they’re trying to turn the USA into a third world crap hole !!

    1. Correction – the insurance company that remington used caved in – remington as it was at the time no longer even exists…

  4. I believe it is Mexico’s attempt to support Biden as the new president. One can make up anything that would take even the slightest effort to debunk and pass it off as truth.

As corrupt as Mexico is, the only reason the press would pass on any statement from them is that it supports the left.

  5. Secure the border, build the wall, no one over the border that isn’t verified and checked out completely.
    Problem solved.

  6. A failed state if there ever was one. Even they recognize the weakness of our current administration. They would never have attempted such a blatant shakedown on the US when Trump was in the White House.

  7. Barrack Obama ,Joe Biden and Eric Holder are responsible for illegal guns in Mexico through thier Fast and furious gun walking program and need to be held accountable for thier illegal actions . These 3 criminals should be sued and pay for thier crimes against Mexican citizens..

    1. Hell will freeze over before that ever happens. Our elected and appointed officials are a joke. Our own country is turning into a circus.

  8. I was going to say let’s sue Mexico for our huge drug problem but that won’t help. We should invade that shit hole and kill all the drug dealers and be done with it. I’ve lost so many friends to drugs ” south Florida ” that the kids I grew up with mother’s have their own support group.

    1. We just need a president and government that will classify the cartels as terrorists. Then we’ll cut the American military lose on them. Provlem solved in less than a week.

      1. Chad, Rip, these are great ideas.
I will write a few letters this weekend, not that it may help much. But going to the on a long 1 mile run and later to the range this weekend to shoot some zombie targets will help vent my frustration.

  9. Anyone else believe this was planned and funded by the American present admin to do another end around on the second!?? You know you can anything you want in Mexico for the right price!

  10. The Bidenista Regime will accept full blame for this affront to Mexico. They will admit guilt and settle with Mexico for a very large 8-9 figures. The corrupt Mexican government will line their own pockets and waste the money and also probably buy more guns . This will surprise no one in this forum.

  11. The corruption and immorality of the people is part and parcel of the Mexican culture. If it wasn’t for guns they would murder each other with knives, and if not for knives they would use clubs, and if it wasn’t for clubs they would use rocks. I have seen Mexican police solicit bribes on the street in broad daylight. Anyone who has spent any time there could say the same. And they have the nerve to alibi their corrupt nature by blaming American guns? Ha!

  12. Everyone is right that Mexico is one of the most corrupt countries in the world. Everyone gets paid off and will never stop with all the cartels controlling them. .Countries like this that can’t or would not take charge must, by default, blame someone else. Its always easier doing that then to try and stop it. The Biden Liberals would enjoy, and probably are, aiding them in any way to degrade the US. This government will never take action to stop the illegals and gangs going back-and-forth. We are not responsible for your ineptitude, as have been before you, and will never stop.

    1. Too funny! While we are at it why not counter sue for Mexico allowing their disease ridden and the other countries scum to flood the USA illegally. Lets sue them for allowing their animals to flood our country.

  13. To the Mexican President: Sir, for a start, give your head a shake. How does it become our responsibility as Americans that you are unable to control the use of firearms by the criminal element in your country. Why should American gun manufacturers be held accountable for lawlessness in your country and your inability to curtail it. Guns like gun manufacturers from anywhere in the world are not responsible for your weak policies. You yourself are. If you don’t like this message then don’t purchase our guns. Simple!

  14. We should be continually reminded that it was OBAMA and HOLDER who ILLEGALY Exported Weapons from the U.S. into Mexico!

By filling this suit, the Messkins are working for the Socialist/Democrats against our 2nd Amendment!

  15. Dear Mexico:

If you cleaned up your own house and kept the drug dealers out of business, they pretty much would not need guns now would they? Why should America be responsible because you can’t run your own damn country! Piss Off!

  16. Sounds like O’DA , Buden, Holder,ATF, and all others that knew need to be named in tge suit not the gun manufacturers.

  17. Since they believe it is the United States fault for their violence problem, then we should take the stance that our drug problem are their fault and we should file suit against them.

Get a grip Mexico, your problems are because that most of your politicians, and a substantial group of your military and “law” enforcement, are bought, controlled and paid for by the drug cartels. In the end, Groper Joe Bribedem and his regime will roll over, blame the gun owners and then pay Mexico off while trying to shove gun bans on US citizens

  18. Give us a chance to rectify this. The Mexican government can pay our soldiers to retrieve our guns. We will gladly let any lay that are not ours. Then their brave troops can come get them.

  19. I once visited Mexico on a Caribbean Cruise and have no interest in visiting there again. Their government is crookeder than a dog’s hind leg and they have no business blaming us for it. They need to face facts: it’s their own fault and their own doing.

  20. Fast and Furious has accomplished it’s intended goal….The whole idea with “fast and furious” was to instigate exactly these law suits. The goal was to force a ban on AR 15s and other like weapons and to bring laws suits against the US to bankrupt the gun industry. I would not be surprised if this action in not being carried out at the request of the Biden admin.

  21. Agreeing with Pete, it’s amazing how many stolen/malaquired weapons can be traded for china provided Pentanol. Biden,s border is the root of many many problems.

    1. You are 100% right. Holder and Obloejob should both be in a Mexican prison for their bumbling goat rope of Fast & Furious, along with the ATF leadership that so stupidity thought it was a good idea!

  22. If your country did it’s job on “your” side of the border your problems would all go away!

  23. Live by the Sword, die by the Sword… what comes around goes around. Mexico can eat Crow!

  24. Once again it’s those damned guns making the garbage that owns them shoot each other. Let’s also not forget the number of times the border was crossed illegally so they could steal guns to take them back.
