NRA Announces Rescheduled 2020 Meeting of Members
The NRA Annual Meeting of Members’ rescheduled time and location has been announced!
Earlier this year, the National Rifle Association was forced to cancel its Annual Meeting of Members due to COVID-19. Ongoing restrictions on the sizes of gatherings have made what is normally a gala event with 70,000+ members in attendance into a bare-bones legal minimum for re-electing Board Members. The below is the NRA’s official announcement.
The National Rifle Association, the oldest civil rights organization in the country, is holding the 149th NRA Annual Meeting of Members Saturday October 24, 2020 at 9:00am in the Loews Ventana Canyon Hotel located at 7000 N. Resort Drive, Tucson, Arizona. The meeting was originally scheduled to be held April 18 in conjunction with the 2020 NRA Annual Meetings & Exhibits, but was rescheduled due to the cancellation of the 2020 Convention.
Join NRA President Carolyn D. Meadows, Executive Vice President Wayne LaPierre, NRA-ILA Executive Director Jason Ouimet and the other NRA officers for the Annual Meeting of Members as they share the vision for NRA going forward. The official results of the 2020 election of members to the NRA Board of Directors will be announced as well. The meeting is free to attend and open to all current NRA members and immediate family.
Eligible NRA members are strongly encouraged to vote during the Annual Meeting of Members. Voting members help determine the future course and direction of the Association. Eligible members (Life members and Annual Members with five or more consecutive years of membership) may vote on Association business during the meeting and/or vote for the 76th Board Member. Annual Members with less than five years of consecutive membership may only vote for the 76th Board Member.
All members wishing to vote at the Annual Meeting of Members MUST have their memberships verified in the Voter Verification room. In order to vote, a person must be a Life member or Annual member with five or more consecutive years of membership by September 4, 2020. The member must also be a U.S. citizen and be at least 18 years of age.
The Voter Verification room will be located in the Ventana Room at the Hotel and will be open Friday October 23, 9am – 8pm, and Saturday October 24 from 8am until the conclusion of the Annual Meeting of Members. All voting booths for the 76th Director will be located in the Voter Verification room.
Make plans now to attend the 149th NRA Annual Meeting of Members!
Pre-registration is encouraged as seating will be limited due to public health restrictions. On site registration will be on a first come first served basis.
Seating will be provided inside the Kiva Ballroom with overflow seating on the Kiva Patio, and will also be filled on a first come first served basis on the day of the meeting.
