Guns Save Lives
Gun Control Works (to Double Washington’s Murder Rate)
It’s official: Washington State has now entered the “found out” phase.
The “fooling around” in Washington state goes back to 2020, when its citizens and administration informed the police that they weren’t required anymore. Then, about three months ago, the fooling around intensified with a ban on semi-automatic firearms that is unconstitutional on its face. Now, the results of “the people’s experiment” are on offer: a near-doubling of the state’s murder rate. Of course, anti-gunners will spin this as proof that they just need to ban more guns and get rid of some more police. (The “progressive” motto is as follows: “The theory cannot be wrong, only the execution … so do it again, and do it harder!”
And Washington’s progressives will just keep on “finding out.” Sadly, so will the state’s innocent, law-abiding citizens. For all the details, we’re turning it over to Alan Gottlieb of the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms (CCRKBA).
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A new report released Monday by the Washington Association of Sheriffs and Police Chiefs (WASPC) offers ample evidence that two extremist gun control initiatives, along with additional legislation pushed by Democrat lawmakers has failed miserably, and should be repealed, the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms said today.
“WASPC data released Monday showing a 96 percent increase in homicides since 2019 is damning proof that billionaire-backed gun control measures were, as we predicted, false pie-in-the-sky promises,” said CCRKBA Chairman Alan Gottlieb. “Passage of Initiative 594 in 2014 and I-1639 in 2018 have accomplished nothing other than to create massive impairments, which we believe are unconstitutional, for law-abiding Washington citizens.
“While the billionaires who bankrolled both initiatives were saying these measures would reduce crime,” he recalled, “we were telling people the truth, and the WASPC report vindicates our arguments. WASPC says last year’s 394 murders is the highest number of homicides recorded by the group since 1980.
“And we’re more than one year out from passage of a ban on so-called ‘large-capacity magazines,’ which was a pet project of Democrat Attorney General Bob Ferguson,” Gottlieb added. “Guess what, murders went up last year by 16.6 percent over 2021.
“At this point,” Gottlieb said, “it is fair to ask what good has any of these laws accomplished? These gun control measures have only helped make people less safe, and it should be clear to voters they’ve been deceived by the gun prohibition lobby, which will no doubt try to spin the new report to suggest even stricter measures are necessary.
“In private business,” he added, “if something repeatedly doesn’t work, the plan is scrapped and the company tries something else. If the people responsible refuse to let go, they might be fired. But the anti-gun crowd invariably doubles down, only making things worse. It is time to hold these people accountable, and for the Legislature to acknowledge that gun control extremism has been an abject failure. Restrictions created by I-594 and I-1639 can legally be repealed, along with Ferguson’s 2022 ban on magazines and this year’s ban on so-called ‘assault weapons.’ Washington citizens deserve better and it is time for a change of direction.”
This is the same problem several other Dementiacrat controlled states have. A few high population, Dementiacrat controlled cities control the state legislature and the money. The Marxists don’t give a crap about how many serfs and peasants get killed by criminals. Thats just that many fewer they will have to get rid of later.
While I feel for those stuck with the crap they don’t support, it is in many ways their own faults.
No, they didn’t vote for it. But the conservatives in general have failed to deal with the Marxists when they still could. Our messaging and efforts were unconvincing or non existent. We allowed the left to get control of education, news media, government bureaucracy, and even the military. Simply because we were too busy to get involved or ignored the problem because since we have morals and honor, we like to think so do others. Marxists have no morals, ethics or honor.
Unfortunately 1/2 the state has little to no say in what is being done to our rights. We have become beholden to the west side of this state. Big city democrats with big money donors. Donors that hate everything about the values of the eastern side of the state. Washington is really 2 states. Until the people on the west side have had enough nonsense and learn how to vote we are screwed. They don’t learn. I think if they were going to learn they would have already. We have tried to split the state in 2 . Calling the eastern side Liberty . It has failed because the west side loves our tax money. Money that is mostly spent on the west side. What little representation we have has failed us. I have entertained the idea of moving out of state entirely . Like many others have already. They move away and then another California socialist fills their place. It just makes this state worse and worse. I won’t retreat. I will stand my ground. Our only hope is that more people here will do the same. Inslee , side show Bob Ferguson and the whole lot of them need to be ousted from having any say in this state ever again.
After Hard Left Washington (state) designated .22 cal plinking rifles as “assault rifles”, it became abundantly clear, they are living in “La-la land”. Time to bail out. The Attormey General has a rabid fixation on persecuting one person in particular (Tim Eyman) who has saved taxpayers OVER FORTY BILLION DOLLARS IN UNNECESSARY EXTRA TAXES and has had little support from the urban populace.
Washington is a beautiful state to look at (discounting Seattle) but has a mouthful of rotting teeth (politics) Now the crime rate is climbing as I shake my head. “Told you so”, as the murder rate heads for the hills.
I have a hard time feeling sorry for people who let this crap happen. Anyone supporting gun control is “woke” and there is just no hope for them. Usually it takes a tragedy to pull them out of the delusions they live in.
